The Governess Wore Scarlet BookcoverToday I read The Governess Wore Scarlet, by Sari Robins. It is a historical romance that takes place in the London of 1812. It features a very strong hero and heroine. They both are shadowed by a tragic past. The hero, Jason Steele, is still dealing with the death of his wife and has turned his grief into a form of vigilantism roaming the streets of London hunting for criminals. The heroine, Abigail West, is a governess with a past of mistaking love for lust. She is also looking for her brother, who in an attempt to avenge his sisters honor is now a wanted man.

Thrown into the mix are two little boys, their grandfather, a mysterious tutor, and a man who isn’t what he seems.

It all made for a fairly good book. Very predictable in the outcome and a little far-fetched as far as the relationship between Steele and Ms. West. (Sex in an alley way with a stranger?)

I give this book a rating of ALRIGHT.

Rating: An alright book
