Where the Heart Leads

heart-leads.jpgWhere the Heart Leads, by Stephanie Laurens is about two very intelligent, headstrong people. The author uses characters from her Cynster series to tie this book in, although this isn’t about any of the actual Cynsters. Penelope Ashford, is the sister of Portia Cynster, and is the administrator of a home for foundlings. Barnaby Adair is the third son of an earl who has earned a name for him self as an investigator.

These two come together when Penelope asks for Barnaby’s help in finding four orphans that have gone missing before coming to the foundling house. Throughout the investigation they come to find that one must follow where their heart leads.

The one thing about this book that didn’t set well with me was how big Penelope’s ego was. Several times she says things about how men are not intelligent, and how surprised she is that Barnaby has the mental ability to keep up with her. I found this a very unbecoming aspect of her character.

This is a super book!!
