Dead Perfect

dead-perfect.jpgDead Perfect, by Amanda Ashley, is about a dying woman, Shannah, who searches out a vampire to turn her. She doesn’t really want to become a vampire, but she doesn’t want to die either. Ronan, the vampire she finds, is a lonely man who has been roaming the earth for over 500 years alone.

At first I didn’t like Ronan at all. I thought his character overly pessimistic and too standoffish, but came to realize that it was a fear of loving and being left that made him shy away from others.  After being “alive” for over 500 years he has come to a point where he does everything in his life in a very routine manner. Shannah begins following him for lack of anything better to do and becomes obsessed by what she believes he is. After following him for 5 months she approaches him and both of their lives are instantly changed.

This book was alright, I think the book would have been better it had moved at a faster pace.
